QUANTUM QUEST
This computer-animated science fantasy film interweaves billions of dollars of space imagery captured by 5 on going space missions with an imaginary atomic universe to create a captivating action adventure story that is fun for the whole family, and subtly educates and motivates viewers about our solar system. In the film, we follow the adventure of Dave (John Travolta), a young photon, who is forced to leave the comfort of his home deep inside the sun, to save his kind from annihilation by the evil forces of FEAR (Samuel L. Jackson). THE VOID (David Warner), is the very embodiment of nothingness, he is that which existed before the big bang, and seeks to destroy everything in the universe, all knowledge, all matter, everything. Protecting mankind and the very universe against this nothingness, is THE CORE, a being that exists in all stars, who guides the atomic society of photons, protons, and neutrinos that live inside our sun. The best in this society are offered the chance to serve THE CORE in his effort to safe guard mankind. Only Dave, feeling unworthy and afraid, refuses this offer to serve, preferring to stay in the sun and play NOVA-BALL, until fate intervenes in the form of his friend RAYNA, a neutrino RANGER (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who is pursued by Gell-Man Ghosts. RAYNA forces DAVE to take up her mission, forcing him from the Sun into the dark cold vacuum of space, on a quest that takes him through the solar system to Saturn. Dave is pursued constantly by FEAR, GENERAL IGNORANCE, and MAJOR MORON, and an army of anti-matter as he races to find the Cassini Commander who holds the secret to save Dave’s generation from annihilation.
